I choose Nick Danziger’s “Eleven Women Facing War”. This Story is about eleven women facing the war and conflict from 8 countries. Nick did their stories in 2001. The specialty of this story is Nick went back after 10 years in search of the eleven women documented in 2011. This documentary story could show the link between the past and current.
Before I explain why I choose the story of “Eleven Women Facing War”, I would like to briefly explain about the photographer Nick Danziger. Nick’s childhood is interesting. He has been travelling around the world since he is 13 years old. He loves adventurous travelling. He travelled from Turkey to China by land. He published books about his adventurous travellings. The reason I choose his story “Eleven Women Facing War” among others is I envy his patience. He started document this stroy in 2001 and went back to his subjects to end the stroy after 10 years, 2011. This really make me evny for his patience on his long term project.
He documented about 11 women from 8 differents countries But I notice 3 common things. They are-
1. The same story
2. The same character
3. The same issues.
All his charcters are women and all the issues are about war and conflict. The stroy is the life of women in the war and conflict.
Choosing the strong character could support his stroy. He could chose the strong character facing war and conflict among other women. His story could add the view’s eagerness to know what will happen next. This means the viewer’s eagerness to know about what will happen to the characters from the past 10 years in the next 10 years.
